The Role

Salary: £23,400 per annum + bonus
Location: Champion House, Wyvern Business Park, Stephensons Way, Derby DE21 6LY
FTC: 12 months (MAT Cover)
Hours/shift pattern: 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday 9-5pm
As a Stock Control Administrator, you will play a vital role within the Head Office Stock Control team, supporting our Buying team, Preparation teams and Motorpoint stores in all aspects of administering Motorpoint’s group stock. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that stock is accurately added, tracked, allocated, and ready for sale across our network, helping to maintain efficiency and consistency in stock availability.
This role is suited to someone with a keen interest in cars and a detail-oriented, organised approach to work. You'll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of the automotive industry, gain experience in stock control, and
work collaboratively with teams across the business, including sales, transport, and vehicle preparation. A proactive, flexible approach and a willingness to learn and grow within the department will be key to your success in this position.
What will you be getting up to?

Stock Processing:
Process vehicle invoices into the stock system accurately and promptly, ensuring records are up-to-date

Vehicle Research and Pricing:
Research vehicle specifications and service history, and price retail criteria vehicles for sale. Conduct competitor research to maintain competitive pricing

Site Allocation:
Allocate vehicles to Motorpoint sites based on requirements and stock availability. Review vehicle check-in exceptions to ensure quality standards

Part-Exchange and Stock Review:
Process part-exchange vehicles that meet retail criteria and review all vehicles returning to stock for potential resale

Communication and Support:
Assist Head Office departments and Motorpoint sites with queries or issues related to stock. Build strong relationships with other departments and communicate effectively with the buying team to gather essential vehicle information

Inbox and Workload Management:
Monitor a shared inbox, organise incoming requests, and ensure timely responses to stock-related enquiries

Price and Stock Management:
Process price changes, support the sales team by providing PX to retail bids, and ensure accurate advertisement of stock on our website

Annual Stock Take:
Help organise and conduct the annual stock take, ensuring accuracy in stock records

Supplier and Transport Coordination:
Arrange and plan vehicle payments, set up transport movements for incoming stock, and liaise with transport agents to resolve any collection or delivery issues. Build relationships with vehicle suppliers and request finance clearances, confirming vehicle locations and release codes

Flexibility and Support:
Be prepared to assist with additional tasks and responsibilities within the Stock Control department as needed, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to support other team members and Head Office functions related to stock management.
