The Role
Job Title: 2nd Line Technical Support Engineer
Location: Shelton House, Derby, UK (Travelling to our sites will be required)
Reports To: Head of Development and Operation
Salary: Up to 30k + Car Scheme
As an End User Computing Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the security, performance, and usability of Motorpoint’s end-user computing environment. Working under the guidance of the Head of Development and Operations, you will be responsible for the management, configuration, and support of user devices and applications, leveraging Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365 technologies. This role also requires regular store visits, so a valid driving license is essential.
What will you be getting up to?
- Provide technical support for end-user computing issues, escalating complex problems where necessary.
- Assist in the management and configuration of Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, access controls, and data protection regulations.
- Deploy, configure, and support end-user devices including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
- Maintain endpoint security, including antivirus management, encryption, and patching.
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance user experience and system performance.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge base articles for IT support processes.
- Stay updated with industry best practices in end-user computing and security.
- Conduct regular store visits to provide on-site IT support and maintenance.
What do we need from you?
- Previous experience in an IT support or end-user computing role.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, and Windows operating systems.
- Understanding of IT security principles, compliance, and access controls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose hardware/software issues.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are desirable but not essential.
- A valid driving license is essential due to the requirement for regular store visits.
