The Role: Online Assistant Sales Manager.
Salary: £40,000 per annum.
Location: Derby [Shelton House, Unit 7, Prime Enterprise Park, Prime Park Way, Derby, DE1 3QB].
Contract Type: Permanent.
Hours: 42.5 hours per week, 5 days, Monday to Sunday.
The Online Assistant Sales Manager plays a key role in leading the day to day running of the Call Centre and supporting the sales team, making sure customer enquiries are handled quickly and we deliver the experience our customers expect. You’ll keep a close eye on daily team performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and targets are achieved. You’ll also guide the team throughout the shift, helping them follow our processes, drive improvements, and maintain high quality standards across the day.
What will you be getting up to?
• Opening and closing the Call Centre, helping the team get set up for a smooth and successful day.
• Work alongside the Sales Managers to welcome the team, set the tone for the day, and support them with clear goals and priorities.
• Champion our Motorpoint values every day, leading by example and creating a positive, energising environment where the team feel supported and enjoy being in the office.
• Allocate email leads and warm outbound opportunities fairly, following our agreed processes so the whole team has the best chance to succeed.
• Make sure customer calls are answered quickly and professionally, keeping abandoned call rates within the agreed level.
• Support Sales Executives by revaluing part‑exchange vehicles, using the agreed process to help them secure deals and deliver great customer service.
• Keep an eye on daily performance and lead activity, taking supportive, proactive steps to help the team hit their KPIs.
• Ensure the team is compliant with lead management and customer processes, offering guidance where needed.
• Support the Sales Manager with Monthly Performance Reviews, helping to recognise strengths and encourage development.
• Provide light coaching and training to the team when the Sales Manager is on annual leave, ensuring continuity and support.
• Speak with customers who may be unhappy or thinking about cancelling, aiming to resolve concerns and turn their experience around.
• Work with store teams to support customers at the point of collection, helping resolve any questions or concerns.
• Play an active role in recruiting new Sales Executives and Sales Associates, helping us bring great people into the business.
You’ll take part in our weekly Manager Meeting, where you’ll have the chance to:
• Share ideas and strategies to boost operational performance and help us keep improving.
• Bring fresh thinking on how we can enhance KPI delivery and support the team in hitting their targets.
• Provide an update on weekly performance, celebrating wins and highlighting opportunities to grow.
