The Role: L&D Lead
Salary: £60,000 per annum
Location: Based at Derby Head Office, with regular travel to all stores across the UK.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday).

What will you be getting up to?
Purpose
To lead the learning and development strategy and plan to ensure all team members are capable, confident and committed in their roles.
Key responsibilities
Devise learning and development strategy, training plan and budget.
Deliver on the strategy, plan and budget and achieve agreed KPIs.
Lead and develop a learning and development team which includes external providers.
Lead, inspire and support the ongoing development of our training culture.
Influence and engage leaders across the business in the development of themselves and their teams.
Ensure the learning and development provision is operationally realistic, aligned to our commercial goals, contributes to retention and engages all its benefits and outcomes.
Develop our digital learning offering, ensuring that our ‘Motorpoint Performance Hub is modern, relevant and engaging’.
Provide induction training and support to operational and head office team members, ensuring they have the capability, commitment and confidence to carry out their responsibilities within 6 months.
Support Line Managers to provide an effective induction and on the job training.
Provide training, coaching and mentoring to improve the performance, confidence and productivity of our whole team.
Ensure our management development programme delivers the skills and behaviours necessary to lead our vision, virtuous circle and values.
Manage our Apprenticeship Levy and establish effective well supported apprenticeships within the organisation.
Provide programmes of personal development.
Key activities
Deliver the training plan and manage the budget effectively.
Communicate clearly and effectively ensuring the business is fully informed of all learning and development opportunities.
Record, monitor and evaluate all training, ensuring those who need and require training take part.
Manage the performance and focus of the National Sales Trainer, providing ongoing professional development support and mentoring.
Support and oversee the provision of effective induction to new starters.
Support managers to deliver on-the-job training and follow our induction process effectively.
Deliver off-the-job induction training programmes.
Carry out training needs analysis and devise training plans to ensure our team members continue to be up-to-date, skillful and confident in their roles.
Build upon our existing team of external providers, ensuring anyone who delivers for Motorpoint reflects our values and understands our business.
Design and deliver skills training that are relevant and up to date.
Design and deliver of personal development workshops.
Coaching and facilitation to support managers and team members on the job.
Identify and support apprenticeships for team members, ensuring training providers deliver to a high standard and the programmes are fully supported operationally.
Build strong relationships and credibility with managers across the business.
Build strong relationships and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.
Run face to face training/coaching on site to meet gaps and needs identified by the People Team and local Line Managers.
Produce high quality supporting resources.
Support the creation of digital learning content and maintain up to date resources on our Motorpoint Performance Hub.
What do we need from you?
It is essential that you are:
Qualified in learning and development with several years’ experience of learning and development. (CIPD, TAPS,ITOL).
Qualified/Accredited and experienced coach.
Experienced in a training role with a successful track record in the design and delivery of development programmes.
Experience and up to date knowledge of developing digital learning.
Advantageous if you have:
Experience in managing a learning and development function and supporting members of a team or operational leadership would be desirable.
Experience of devising training plans and managing budget.
Experience of learning and development in a retail environment would be an advantage.
Confidence and creativity in the use of learning technologies and apps.

Understands and experienced in training needs analysis and creating training plans.
Holds a clean driving licence and able to travel to all stores regularly.
