The Role
Title: Information Security Analyst
Reporting to: Information Security Manager
Location: Derby (Hybrid)
Hours: 37.5 Weekly (Mon-Fri)
Reporting to the Information Security Manager, the role will require in-depth understanding of information & cyber security, technology architecture and business security. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further establish their IT Security knowledge and skills in an environment that provides autonomy and support in equal measure.

Bringing your previous experiences and education, creating a cost conscious security strategy can be difficult, however offers valuable betterment for our customers and the organisation. Developing your skills and experiences, expectation to use different tooling and services out of your comfort zone is to be expected. What will you be getting up to?
- Performing security testing on internal applications and processes to improve and manage on-going threats
- Working with the Information Security Manager to implement items on the cybersecurity strategy and maintain an on-going programme of security testing
- Identify weaknesses in Information Security and drive appropriate improvements
- Ownership of vulnerability management and ensuring relevant vulnerabilities and risks are identified and mitigated, both on premise and in the cloud
- Work with the platform engineering, business operations and delivery functions to guide and ensure security principles/procedures are understood and applied consistently
- Working with our Security partner in maintaining the security strategy and components of the service to deliver a best in class posture
- Advising on our Security First posture as part of the security team, collaborating closely with peers to ensure that security is built into everything we do
- Review third party security controls and respond to partner security actions and on-going threats
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise your workload and work to demanding deadlines.
What would we need from you?
- 3/4+ years of relevant industry experience
- Degree in Cyber Security or Computer Science
- Professional certification (CompTIA Security+, other industry certifications)
- Experience working in a Cyber Essentials + certified environment and help achieve the accreditation (Desirable)
- You will have a broad knowledge of a wide range of Information Technology systems and a deep understanding of the inherent security risks associated with these technologies.
- You will have extensive experience implementing and maintaining industry appropriate security tools
- Good understanding of security controls within cloud environments & infrastructure, including AWS, Azure and 365 and working with teams to rectify vulnerabilities.
- Must be comfortable performing regular internal audits
- Excellent communication & reporting skills
- Demonstrable experience in protecting an organisation against threat actors
- An understanding of infosec best practices and approaches such as OWASP
- Dedicated to the security discipline but pragmatic and adaptable with the tenacity to get things done
- Excellent communicator with the ability to present security topics to a non-technical audience
- Updates in a range of styles and formats to various levels in the organisation
- Must have a reasonable approach to balancing business objectives with information security
- Well organised, focussed with a strong attention to detail
- Must be self-starting, able to define and drive deliverables through to completion
- Continually strives to improve themselves and those around them.
