The Role
Motorpoint PLC are looking for a talented Data Analyst to join our fantastic team and support data-led decision making across all areas of the business.
Can you work closely with internal departments, to gain an in-depth knowledge of our data and processes? Are you ready to apply your analytical expertise to discover new insights and deliver these to the business in a compelling way, offering clear and concise recommendations?
What will you get up to?
- Adopt a proactive approach to data analysis to identify patterns and trends, using SQL, Power BI, Excel and other researched/recommended analytical tools
- Drive data-led decision making across all teams, by providing accurate and timely insights that are delivered effectively to stakeholders
- Respond efficiently to requests for data extracts or analysis and to effectively manage the prioritisation of each request
- Acquire a deep understanding of business processes, systems and data collection and highlight opportunities for improvement
- Liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand availability of data and any data quality issues that should be considered
What would we like from you?
- Possess a strong background in data and analytics and a passion to continuously improve
- Strong SQL Server / T-SQL knowledge and experience querying large complex datasets
- Experience working with Power BI for data analysis and report development
- Able to integrate and work effectively with technical and non-technical teams
- Advanced Excel skills
- Highly numerate
- Degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline
- Knowledge of statistics and experience of statistical modelling is desirable
The ideal candidate will also be:
- Well organised, with a logical approach and the ability to prioritise accordingly
- Thorough and persistent, with attention to detail and accuracy
- A confident communicator and able to clearly explain/interpret findings
- Able to review processes and identify improvements
- Able to take responsibility for their own actions and decisions
- Keen to research and apply advances in the field of data analysis
